Usage Instructions
- If the common title (main title) of a multi-volume item is entered in 'dc:title', the volume-specific title should be entered here.
- When a periodical is published in parts or series, the title given to the part or series should also be entered here.
- Volume and series numbers can also be entered here.
- If there is a Yomi in the title and other relevant information specific to each volume, or in the title of the part or series of a periodical, use "ja-Kana" or "ja-Latn" for the Japanese Yomi and enter it in Katakana or Romaji, respectively. When entering the Yomi, the information with 'xml:lang' set to "ja" must be entered separately from the Yomi.
Notes
- The maximum number of occurrences is not specified. If a single information resource has multiple pieces of information, repeat the elements, and enter them all.
- It is acceptable to describe the bibliographic volume number as part of the part or series title.
- There may be a mixture of the original volume/series numbers and the description of the volume/series numbers given in the digitized unit, but both are acceptable.
